Hashimoto Thyroiditis: Results in 22 Patients

Hashimoto thyroiditis is the most common form of chronic thyroiditis. In this paper, we report the results of 22 cases operated for goitre whom postoperative pathological examinations revealed Hashimoto thyroiditis. 21 patients were euthyroid and one was hyperthyroid, preoperatively. Thyroidal hyperplasia was multinodular in 14, solitary nodular in 6 and bilaterally diffuse in 2 of the patients. Bilateral near total, subtotal and unilateral subtotal lobectomies were performed in 2, 15 and 5 patients, respectively. Postoperative follow-up ranged between 10-114 months with a mean of 51.5. Three patients had nodular recurrences of Hashimoto thyroiditis and were treated with L-thyroxin subtitutions.

Hashimoto Tiroiditi 22 Olguda Sonuçlar

Hashimoto tiroiditi en sık karşılaşılan kronik tiroidit formudur. Bu çalışmada, guatr ön tanısı ile ameliyat edilen ve postoperatif patolojik tetkik sonucu Hashimoto tiroiditi tanısı konan 22 kadın hastanın sonuçları sunulmaktadır. Ameliyat öncesi 21 olgu ötiroid, 1 olgu hipertiroidikti. Olguların 14'ünde multipl nodül, 6'sında tek nodül, 2'sinde diffüz hiperplazi vardı. Hastaların 15'ine bilateral subtotal 1.5'ine unilateral subtotal, ikisine de bilateral totale yakın tiroidektomi yapılmıştır. Ameliyat sonrası 10-114 ay (ortalama 51.5) izlenen olgulardan 3'ünde nodüler tarzda Hashimoto tiroiditi nüksü görülmüş ve bunlar tiroksin tedavisiyle iyileşmişlerdir.
