Investigations were held on 33 euthyroid patients undergoing elective cholecysthectomy. The patients were divided into three groups: in group I (n=13) Halothan, in group II (n=10) Enflurane and in group III (n=10) Neurolept-Anaesthesia (Dehydrobenzperidol + Fentanyl) were administered during anaesthesia. Serum thriiodothronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) levels were determinated immediaty before premedication and postoperatively. In all groups the decrease in T3 levels were statistically significant (p< 0, 01). T4 levels increased postoperatively. The T4 levels found in group I and II, increased statistically significantly (p< 0,01), but in group III this increase was unsignificant (p> 0,05). The results indicated that, in cases with hyperthyreosis or hypothyreosis it would be favorable to use neuroleptanesthesia instead of halogenated hydrocarbons.

Anestezi öncesi ve sonrası serum Triiodotironin (T3) ve Tiroxin (T4) düzeyleri saptandı. Pre ve postop Ts değerlerinde her üç grupta istatistiksel yönden anlamlı düşme (p< 0,01), T4 değerlerinde I. ve II. gruplarda anlamlı (p<0,01), III. Grupta anlamlı olmayan yükselme bulundu (p> 0,05). Sonuçlar hiper veya hipotireoz olgularında halojenli hidrokarbonlar yerine, Nörolept -Anestezi yönteminin uygun olacağını göstermiştir.
