Total Knee Arthroplasty Results in Our Gonarthrosis Cases

Aim: The purpose of this study is to evaluate our results of the posterior cruciate ligament sacrificing total knee arthroplasty for gonarthrosis with severe deformity. Method: Between January 1996 - September 2002, a study group of 34 knees of 30 patients of which 2 (7%) were males and 28 (93%) were females, all having gonarthrosis with severe deformity and operated with cemented posterior cruciate ligament sacrificing total knee arthroplasty, were regularly followed. Clinical evaluation was carried out in accordance vuith Knee Society Evaluation form and Lysholm Knee Scores. Results: At the end of 44 ±12 months observation period, be for e the operation mean Lysholm knee point average was 34 ±8, ıuhereas it increased to 87 ±7 during post - op controls. Mean range of motion was 71 ±14° be for e the operation, whereas it increased to average 91 ±15° at post-op period. Comparative statistical analysis of the Knee Society knee scores of the last control was found to be p< 0.0001. Conclusion: Posterior cruciate ligament substituting type of prothesis gives sufficient results for knees with severe deformity.

Gonartroz Olgularında Total Diz Artroplastisi Sonuçlarımız

Amaç: İleri derecede deformiteli gonartroz olgularımızda, arka çapraz bağı korumayan total diz protezi uygulamalarımızın sonuçlarını değerlendirmektir. Yöntem: Ocak 1996 - Eylül 2002 tarihleri arasında takibi düzenli yapılabilen ileri derecede deformiteli gonartrozlarda arka çapraz bağın korunmadığı, çimentolu diz protezi uygulanan 28 (%93)'i kadın, 2 (%7)'si erkek 30 hastanın 34 dizi çalışma grubu olarak alındı. Klinik değerlendirme Knee Society değerlendirme formu ve Lysholm diz skorlamasına göre yapıldı. Bulgular: Ortalama 44 ±12 ay izlem sonunda ameliyat öncesi dönemde Lysholm diz puanı ortalama 34 ±8 iken, ameliyat sonrası son kontrolde 87 ±7'e yükseldi. Ameliyat öncesi dönemde hareket açıklığı ortalama 71 ±14° iken ameliyat sonrası dönemde ortalama 91 ±15° idi. Son kontroldeki Knee Society diz skorlarının karşılaştırmalı istatistiksel analizinde p<0.0001 idi. Sonuç: İleri derecede deformitesi olan dizlerde arka çapraz bağı kesen tip protezler ile yeterli sonuçlar elde edilebileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.
