Three hundred thirty-seven patients with upper respiratory tract infection between the ages of 4-14 years were admitted to Social Security Tepecik Teaching Hospital Pediatric Clinics during the period of February 1990 - November 1990 of these 237 laboratory confirmed cases of Group A beta-hemolytic streptococcal upper respiratory tract infections were treated with 4 different penicilline derivates in 5 different treatment groups. It was shown that there were no statistical difference between the treatment groups both in the acute phase treatment and the bacterial eradications.

Tepecik Hastanesi Çocuk Polikliniklerine 14.02.1990 - 12.11.1990 tarihleri arasında başvuran ve akut "Üst solunum yolu enfeksiyonu " tanısı olan 4-14 yaşlan arasındaki 337 olgu, çalışmamız kapsamına alınmış ve boğaz kültüründe ve/veya strep A enzim immunoassay ile A grubu beta-hemolitik streptokok tespit edilen 237 tanesi 4 değişik penisilin derivesinin (prokain penisilin, kombine penisilin, penisilin V, benzatine penisilin) oluşturduğu 5 ayrı tedavi protokolü ile sağaltılmışlardır. Tedavi protokollerinin akut dönem etkinlikleri ve bakteri eradikasyonları yönünden birbirine üstünlükleri olmadığı ve aralarında istatistiki bir anlam farkı bulunmadığı gösterilmiştir.
