The Emotional Favor Mother: Jean Ball Of Deck-Chair Theory

Role of maternity includes tasks; which are doing the baby's care, providing the security, communicating, providing the acceptance of the baby to family as an individual and coping with growing problems of baby.
Mothers have difficulties in fulfilling the requirements of this new role and they are confronted with problems. These problems are fatigue associated with this condition, disappointing and intense emotional problems; which are included loss of control. Jean Ball reports that the midwife's most important responsibility is support during the adaptation process to women's motherhood role. Midwifes and nurses can benefit Jean Ball’s Deck- Chair Theory for adapting to the new role of mother and developing favor as emotional. In this article based on literature, it is aimed to share post partum favor as emotional, affecting conditions and knowledge of Deck-Chair Theory. Benefit from this theory, it can contribute time for transition to parenthood, the role of the acquisition of motherhood and mother-baby and community health.

Annenin Duygusal İyiliği: Jean Ball’ın Deck-Chaır (Şezlong) Teorisi

Annelik rolü bebeğin bakımını yapma, güvenliğini sağlama, iletişim kurma, bebeğin bir birey olarak aileye kabulünü sağlama ve bebekle ilgili gelişen problemlerle baş etme görevlerini içermektedir.
Anneler bu yeni rollerinin gerekliliklerini yerine getirmede güçlük yaşayabilir ve bu duruma bağlı yorgunluk, hayal kırıklığı ve kontrol kaybını da içeren yoğun duygusal problemler ile karşılaşabilirler. Jean Ball, ebenin en önemli sorumluluğunun kadını annelik rolüne adaptasyon süreci boyunca desteklemek olduğunu bildirmektedir. Ebe ve hemşireler annenin yeni rolüne uyum sağlaması ve duygusal olarak iyiliğini geliştirmek için Jean Ball’ın geliştirdiği Annenin Duygusal İyiliği - Deck-Chair (Şezlong) Teorisi’nden yaralanabilirler. Literatüre dayalı olarak hazırlanan bu makalede doğum sonrası annenin duygusal iyilik hali, etkileyen durumlar ve Deck-Chair Teorisi ile ilgili bilgilerin paylaşılması hedeflenmiştir. Bu teoriden yararlanarak ebeveynliğe geçiş süresine, annelik rolünün edinilmesine ve dolası ile anne-bebek ve toplum sağlığına katkı sağlanabilir.
