Interventional Endoscopy in Gastrointestinal Disease

Interventional endoscopy seems to be one of the majör landmarks of tvventieth century medicine. This manuscript represents an attempt to critically evaluate the role of interventional endoscopy in the management of gastrointestinal disease. In terms of the tubular gastrointestinal tract interventional endoscopy has provided substantial contributions to the management of patients with gastrointestinal hemorrhage however, attempts to replace conventional surgery in various disease states do not seem to have achieved significant and standardized advancements, except in the case of endoscopic polypectomy for large bowel polyps.

Girişimsel endoskopi 20. yüzyılın önemli dönüm noktalarından biri konumundadır. Bu makale girişimsel endoskopinin gastrointestinal hastalıkların tedavisindeki rolünü değerlendirme çabasındadır. Girişimsel endoskopi gastrointestinal sistemin tubuler bölümünde gastrointestinal kanamalarda sağladığı yararlara rağmen, bu sistemin diğer pekçok hastalığında-kolonun endoskopik polipektomileri hariç klasik cerrahinin yerini alır gözükmemektedir.
